Internet Dating? Too right!!!!?

Ive been on a few dates with people from 'the internet' in recent months for the first time.

Ive met far nicer girls than I would do on a drunken night out and waking up the next morning not being able to look at them in the daylight is a thing of the past lol :)

How have other peoples experiences been like?

Internet Dating? Too right!!!!?
yes dude.. i have been through the same.

at once i used to like it a lot and sumtimes met a few of them. but at the end of the day you feel that they r even not as nice as they seem to be on the internet.. internet dating is great for a change but the doing it the hard way is much more fruitful
Reply:I went through a period of searching for my soul mate. I did it pretty much as you would seeking an employee, only with much better and more intimate results.......

I joined a few "free" dating sites and posted an ad about me and what type of person I was looking for.

Then the responses were pretty overwhelming, so I answered all of them as they came in. The ones that seemed to be realistic, you know, guys within my own age range, that lived close to me and were NOT married (yes, there were a couple of married guys too that had the nerve to try to date me!) I made a "Meet up Date" at my local Starbucks.

I did not waste much time emailing back and forth because I did not want to invest much emotional feelings with someone that I knew I was not going to develop a relationship with.

So I adopted a sort of interview. I know this sounds cold, but I really was just looking for one special guy, someone that would not boss me around or expect me to move in with him, that kind of stuff.

After about a month of dating, I chose one guy and we have been dating for 3 years now. You see, I am a single mom of two teen boys and frankly I have no interest in living with or marrying anyone ever again. So my honey and I are perfect for each other!

Another Internet dating success!
Reply:What glitters isn't always gold.

People from the internet will usually look perfect at first but after being around them after a while you will see their true colors. Dating someone from the internet isn't much different than real life dating, except in your situation where you chose to pick up some random girl from a club or bar.
Reply:i too prefer to get to know someone online than go out to the local meat market.I have had a few dates with very polite and well behaved men,no problems for me going online,so many ppl warn me to be wary,i'm sensible about it and consider my safety when chatting and potentially going to meet up with them.
Reply:Ive met some great guys this way... You get to know them before you meet them, so by the time youre face to face, you already know you like them....

On the flip side, there are people out there who are very good at playing the game.... Occasionally I have met someone and thought " are you actually the same person Ive been chatting online with for 3 weeks?"
Reply:i met up with a girl from the internet, she was cool, the another girl named tynish i met all fo these girls from bebo.com, they were good girls, nasty girls, but they were cool lol

Reply:Yes good experiences but generally if you are looking for good times that seems to be all they would offer and rarely are they looking for a commited experience except I finally met one who is willing to marry me

Are you looking for a good time or a long term commitment?
Reply:I never did want to meet anyone on the internet for me it was kind of scary, however my brother-in-law met his wife on the internet and they now have been married almost 3 years and have a little girl and they are happy.
Reply:I am glad you had good experiences:-)

Many people have nightmarish ones when meeting people over the internet...
Reply:I've dated a guy that a met on the Internet before. He was a nice guy, but we just weren't right for each other.
Reply:i wouldnt try it.
Reply:good i think i feel like people online are less drama
