Internet dating/personals? what is best?

This might be a stupid question, but, i'm a guy, thinking of checking some online dating..what is the best site for this? Is there an answer to that kind of question? I guess i'm looking for sites that might be populated by smart, independent, well-read, sexy, funky/alt music loving (say, Flaming Lips!), indie films liking, in shape women..lol!





I mean, I guess i'm looking to step outside the shallow, "not-much-there" crowd...maybe a little *outside* the mainstream, or conservative bucket. Hoping I'm not sounding elitist or something, but.....





Are there sites that kind of cater to this? i'm not into myspace at this time - but maybe that's what i'm describing here.

Be very careful, there are creeps out there! That being said, you will have the opportunity to meet so many people, people you would never normally come across. Some you will like, some you won't. Don't go into this with any high expectations, go into it as a fun adventure, because you most assuredly will be rejected by one or two people you like (Say what!!!! YES)





Be open minded, accept the differences in others and respect them, who knows you might meet your miss right!

I have done the Internet dating sites.....I only found 1 couple that was honest....and WAY too freaky.





Be careful.....and know that most people on the sites bend the truth.

Many people might fudge their height or weight online, but how many people actually ask how much you weigh on a first date? Also, some people might lie about being married, but people do that in person all the time. Dating in general, is a risk. You are trying to find someone you can get along with who inspires you physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. I have a good friend and a cousin who met their husbands online, so I know it's possible to find good people online. If you're adventurous and not dissuaded by a few rotten eggs now and again, I say go for it.


One thing about myspace is that you can read more about these people before you actually attempt to meet them, so most of their info is probably true.
