Guys and internet dating?

I read an article which said that most male internet daters start to develop feelings for a girl with who they have exchange several messages with.


Do you believe this?


Why do you think a guy would develop feelings for a girl based on a picture and in what she has to say over e-mail?


What is your opinion on this?

I would say the main factors would be imagination and attention. If the girl is smart enough to say the right things to him in her IMs or emails and likes her appearances, of course he'll be attracted to her on some level. Also, there is the thrill of the unknown. He might feel that he "knows" her based on their exchanges, but there is still the adventure of getting to know her better.





It may also have to do with the fact that a man who is looking for someone on the internet is actively LOOKING for someone and hoping that the person on the other end is the one they were searching for.
Reply:because they look like there type of girl , just like in the outside world when a guy sees a girl they think she looks good so they start to develop feelings. However on the Internet most people are surprised of they actually end up talking to a good looking person , so they fall hard and fast. They believe that person is what they are looking for

Reply:USUALLY WE ARE IN LUST WITH THE UNKNOWN. KNOWING YOU HAVE A SPECIAL FRIEND IN ANOTHER STATE THAT YOU CAN COMMUNICATE WITH IS A TURN ON BY ITSELF. MOST OF THESE PEOPLE PROBABLY WONT NEVER MEET.

Keep in mind, that the "cream of the crop" guys are out there meeting girls and taking them home. The Internet dating guys? Lonely guys like me. Disloyalty would never be an issue, but you might lose interest in them for their lack of appearance.
Reply:yes i believe cuz it happened to me. but we met once first. then we started talking through messages. i guess bc u get to know that person %26amp; its a little mysterious. but it usually doesnt last long anyways.
Reply:Depending on the guy. Some guys do believe in it and some dont believe in that. It depends if the girl gave the guy a phone number and if they got to know each other. In my opinion I would say that I could get emothional envolved with a girl that I was e-mail dating as long as I had some other way to talk to her just in case if the inter net was down for a while.

I've been there for alot of times that guys want to date me just cuz how i look but i dont agree with that bcuz they just want sex
Reply:Honestly there is nothing wrong with it. Its human nature. And to those of you who think internet dating is stupid.. your wrong.. My dad has been with a lady he met on the internet and had a 9 year relationship with her.. they were engaged. Needless to say there not together anymore. But still it was a meaningful relationship. As for feelings developing... completely natural... sometimes in person you don't listen to what others say... as for the internet you must read what they say to respond so you are actually opening up communication by talking online.
