Does internet dating realy work?

There's so many ways people can meet on-line. Some examples include: Yahoo chat, Personals on-line, Myspace/Friendster/and other networking sites. All of which allow individuals to meet other people in different parts of the world with just one click and not having to deal with the challenges of approaching a person you like, more of just typing your feelings out. In a way, you can say its more impersonal, which makes it easy and more desirable by others because the Internet gives you the access of meeting someone personally[words typed being their inner self] and even physically [pictures and webcam. Yes, people can lie about how they look and what they're really like, but its up to you to find out whether its real or not. Internet dating does really work if both of the individuals are serious, faithful, honest, and take the risk of being in a relationship. Hence, it doesn't matter how two people meet its up to the people to make it work.

no way. first of all, you cant really see the person, its boring, no hands-on stuff, and you just type stuff....nope

Reply:yes. their are some freaks out there though. i found the love of my life 26 months ago, were getting married this summer. we both lived in the same town. look for someone who lives in your town or with in 15 miles from you. dont settle for just anyone, be picky, i did. dont hook up with people who hang out in bars and such places, if you want someone decent.
Reply:I can't speak for everyone but it worked for me. I met my fiancee about two years ago through an online dating service and we are still together. We have been together now for over a year. I haven't been happier at any point in my life until now. It can work just make sure you do your research on the person!!!

Opinion: I don't really think dating in it's self works if you're serious about finding someone. That said Internet dating has all of the trappings that real dating has plus the problem of "are they really who they say they are?"





Ok now I'm gonna contradict myself big time because I am now living with my boyfriend who,

We started chatting over a year ago.


Met in person at a public picnic (organised by me and some others on OkCupid.com) in Oct and...


Have been happy and romantic and buddies etc etc etc ever since. We really 'get' and appreciate each other and I dare say we would a). never have met offline and b). if we did a I'd have been too cautious to deal with it properly. [Hello! I was almost a year before we met in person!]





Anyway in short.

Answer loads of tests and questions (they should have these), to get better results.


Be truthful with yourself most of all.
