Does internet dating really work?

Do u think it's the best way for an introvert like me to meet girls? If not where is the most appropriate place?

I know two couples who met on the internet - dated - and are now happily married. One couple for three years - and the other for two now. I think the internet is a great way to weed out the people you are not interested in - because you can say things like "No smokers. No overweight people. No Jesus Freaks" - or whatever it is that turns you off. You should be aware that people do lie about stuff - mostly their ages, weight, success in life - but that happens OFF the internet too.





If you don't like the "high tech" route - book studies, churches, and night classes are sometimes good places to meet woman. You said you are an introvert - so it's unlikely - but not impossible - that you would perform in a play. BUT - there are lots of things to do in a community theatre - and there are LOTS of women involved in them - and A LOT of the men there are gay. So if you are not a homopobe and you'd like to meet women who spend their time doing theatre and encounter mostly gay men - go and act in a show - or gather props - or help build the set - or run the lights or the sound. The ratio of women to straight men is usually at least 5 to 1. And if you are just a quiet, nice guy who is hanging around - they'll notice you.

Reply:some times internet dating works but you have to be careful there are lots of weirdos out there who ruin it for the rest of us.
Reply:I think it's a great way to meet people. The 'playing field' is somewhat leveled as you get to know someone's personality first. Looks and attraction of course are important, but you find out many great things about people you might not ever know if you wouldn't have considered them on looks alone.
Reply:Internet dating can work if and only if both parties are dedicated to the one who is on the other end, and if there is complete and total honesty, trust, communication, and dedication to each other. It takes a lot of work because you do not really know what you are getting until you get it, but often times it can be the most rewarding of all experiences and loves. COMMUNICATION, HONESTY, TRUST are the huge factors that determine whether internet dating really works (among other things)........Without these, there can be no form of internet dating that works....

Reply:I think Internet dating is a great way to meet people, if not to find a lasting relationship. Since you're an introvert, though, be sure to follow through and actually plan in-person meetings with the people you meet. Otherwise, you could end up in a very long online relationship that ends up being disappointing to both of you. Good luck!
