It's a process by which you start chatting with someone, find out you have quite a lot in common, and before you know it, you're so looking forward to chatting with that person you're neglecting sleep, food, personal hygiene, etc.....
You convince yourself you're 'in love', and you arrange to meet. This is when the bubble bursts, when you find you can't stand each other's company......
What is Internet Dating?

Whats your opinion on internet dating four years ago, and other dating services?
i met i nice person there i couldnt believe it, we are still together after five years. are there other lucky people like me??
Whats your opinion on internet dating four years ago, and other dating services?
Yes, through on on-line dating service, I met several men that I liked well enough to date regularly. I am now in a committed relationship nearly 5 years with one of them. Personal ads teach you that what you THINK want maybe isn't what you really want.
Reply:I think you are the exception to the rule.
Good for you.
Reply:Yeah me!! I met this guy just over two years ago and we are still together and am so totally in love with each other all thanks to internet dating. There is absolutely nothing i regret about meeting him the way i did, he's the best!!
Reply:you are just lucky. last person i internet dated, we met online, but dated 4 months. that's 4 months i can't get back. never again.
Reply:It happens, although not very common! LOTS of people later discovered their new find was a liar - they had someone in their lives, they were psychotic, they wanted money, they were murderers...
Reply:It's much like other means of dating, and may even have better track record than the usual bar and entertainment scene.
I had a wonderful five year relationship that sadly has ended, but that's no strike against meeting on the Internet.
Reply:i met someone online a few yrs ago n he became my first everytthing.... it was like 2001 when i met him online n i decided to meet up like 2003...he was nice we were together for about 2yrs but sadly it ended ..it was good while it lasted
Reply:I met this wonderful woman online. We connected so well. I love her with all my heart. She is everything to me. We get along so great. I feel safe with her and feel like she is the best thing that has happend to me. She is the answer to my prayers.

Why is internet dating good or bad?
im 12 and i use to play on comcast games and i told people i was 16 so they would not treat me like a stupid little grl and i ment a guy named foosho he was 15 or 16 and i gave him my email address and we talked alot but this was a secret but one day i told my mother and she read all our emails and deleted my acount, why?
Why is internet dating good or bad?
Have you seen the show "How to catch a predator" ?
That guy you were talking to is most likely an older man
Online dating is dangerous because of the possibility of the crazy people out there
Don't get me wrong the guy you were talking to may have been who he said he was;
But there is a probability that he isn't
Reply:i think it is because if some asked you for a day you don't know who that person is.and if they are safe.

What is your opinnion on internet dating? Would you do it?
I've tried it. Been on a few dates/first meetings. I've heard of others having great luck with it... just not me.
Im interested in others point of view.
What is your opinnion on internet dating? Would you do it?
I know people who have did it and are now happily married, and I know one couple who actually ended up shooting each other its just like walking into a bar- the person could be open and honest or lying and malipuative you just need to keep your guard up and check out the person before you even consider trusting them. Good Luck and don't give up the right person will fall in your lap when you least expect it.
Reply:i have done it and well we never met because the boy couldn't come down from california, his mom didn't like me though i'm really nice. i'de do it again as long as i know for sure i won't get raped or anything.
Reply:I've done it. Its fine. However where I am is not a good location for internet dating. Thats why I'm moving from Georgia to Vegas. Well, not just for that reason. However it makes things a little easier in terms of getting set up, which is nice every now and then. However as a guy, I have to say that I enjoy the hunt.
Reply:well if you know its not a pretender or
fake age it is okay

My sister dates anyone on the internet dating.dirty girl she is?
to date someone on the net is something ought to be careful about ..
Some one who never met before cannot be trusted ...u cant call her dirty just becos she is dating online ..but u can advise her n talk to her .explain to her the situation..
Teenages are hard nut to crack sometimes (no offense) but u just have to keep reminding her the cons of doing so ...there is no guarantee that she might not meet some one nasty or bad .
believe there are good ppl around and on the net but is yr fate n luck if u meet the right ones ...
The world is a dangerous place what more on the net ! I
Take care !

Do internet dating sites work?
I put a profile up, but I'm skeptical about paying for it, and it seems you have to pay to contact other members. Is it worth the money? Has anyone had success with this?
Do internet dating sites work?
I think the success of finding someone on an online dating website would be equal only to the amount of effort you put into it. Be prepared to send a ton of messages, and hope to only get a few responses and then hope that there is one or two decent %26amp; normal women hidden in that handful of responses. Not trying to be a downer, just realistic. I think you can definitely find a partner this way, but don't get discouraged if it takes a while. Just like dating people in other ways, you've got to sift through alot of weirdos to find the right person, and this requires alot of work, but is worth it in the long run. Try free sites, like myspace, etc before paying for one though. It's better to get the feel of things for free then paying while you learn. GOOD LUCK!! Hope you find that special person!!
Reply:I have tried several ( I am ashamed to admit) and non of them have worked out, (in my opinion) you would be better off going to clubs and bars and/or put up a free profile and let the ladies who pay fo rthe service contact you, that way it does not cost you anything.

Reply:Dude, there are sooooo many match-making websites that paying for something like that is a joke. Don't pay.

www.myspace.com
www.craigslist.com
www.okcupid.com
Reply:no you just meet a lot of pervs
Reply:I tried it for a few months and got mixed results. They really work better if you live in a big city. I live in a small town and there wasn't many people near to me.
Here are some of the things about the dating website I didn't like:
1. Women frequently lied in their profile about their weight.
2. In a lot of cases the photos women have are very old and they don't look like that now.
3. Be aware of the "attention getters." These women love attention but don't have any intentions of really finding one person like they may say in their profile.
4. You should see a red flag when you look at someone's profile and they are in their late 20's and it says they will go any distance and any age and their picture looks like a model.
Good luck and hope my advice helps!

Does internet dating realy work?
There's so many ways people can meet on-line. Some examples include: Yahoo chat, Personals on-line, Myspace/Friendster/and other networking sites. All of which allow individuals to meet other people in different parts of the world with just one click and not having to deal with the challenges of approaching a person you like, more of just typing your feelings out. In a way, you can say its more impersonal, which makes it easy and more desirable by others because the Internet gives you the access of meeting someone personally[words typed being their inner self] and even physically [pictures and webcam. Yes, people can lie about how they look and what they're really like, but its up to you to find out whether its real or not. Internet dating does really work if both of the individuals are serious, faithful, honest, and take the risk of being in a relationship. Hence, it doesn't matter how two people meet its up to the people to make it work.
Does internet dating realy work?
no way. first of all, you cant really see the person, its boring, no hands-on stuff, and you just type stuff....nope
anyways its really desperate and pathetic...

Reply:I can't speak for everyone but it worked for me. I met my fiancee about two years ago through an online dating service and we are still together. We have been together now for over a year. http://OkCupid.com is free and has a lots of ways to match you up with other profiles. Great fun!
Opinion: I don't really think dating in it's self works if you're serious about finding someone. That said Internet dating has all of the trappings that real dating has plus the problem of "are they really who they say they are?"
Ok now I'm gonna contradict myself big time because I am now living with my boyfriend who,
mailed me about a year and a half ago.
We started chatting over a year ago.
Met in person at a public picnic (organised by me and some others on OkCupid.com) in Oct and...
Have been happy and romantic and buddies etc etc etc ever since. We really 'get' and appreciate each other and I dare say we would a). never have met offline and b). if we did a I'd have been too cautious to deal with it properly. [Hello! I was almost a year before we met in person!]
Anyway in short.
Good matching sites only.
Answer loads of tests and questions (they should have these), to get better results.
Be truthful with yourself most of all.
AND DON'T PAY FOR ANYTHING! [Please feel free to donate to the good ones if they have that facility I will].
PS. Two of my sets of friends met on-line.
Married couple with kids online dating/chatrooms.
Couple living together from a geeky webchat rooms that had meets.
Oh and if you just wanna shag (well some do I guess) then I'm sure you'll find no end of skanks at the ready.
